National Road Safety Week is being held across Australia from 15 - 22 May 2022.
Holidaymakers travelling through Port Wakefield over the coming long weekends are being asked to be patient and plan ahead for their journeys, as major project works continue.
Black contrasting line marking, aimed at improving road safety and visibility, will be trialled on the Northern Connector in a state-first.
The new line marking will require the temporary full closure of the Northern Connector to all southbound traffic, and the temporary partial closure to northbound traffic, next weekend.
As part of the Regency Road to Pym Street Project there will be a temporary partial closure of the South Road and Regency Road intersection from 5am Monday, 4 January, to 5am Monday, 11 January, weather permitting.

As part of the Darlington Upgrade Project, night and weekend works will be undertaken in the lowered motorway and on South Road to install the final layer of asphalt and line marking.
